The Plansee Group has invested eleven million euros in a new training centre for CERATIZIT and Plansee. Now the centre has been inaugurated officially in the presence of the Governor of Tyrol Günther Platter. The new building in Reutte, Austria, creates space for the training of up to 240 apprentices in six technical apprenticeship trades.

“With this new building, Plansee sets a clear sign that the training of skilled workers will be even more important in the future for success in business. My sincere congratulations,” says Governor Günther Platter on the occasion of the official inauguration in Reutte.

“More room, a modern machine park and new technologies create the conditions for continuing to offer top quality training to our apprentices in the future too,” says Karlheinz Wex from the Executive Board of the Plansee Group. Apprenticeship training is exclusively offered for the company’s own needs. After successfully concluding the apprenticeship, junior skilled workers will be taken over with a permanent contract.

The new training centre provides 2,700 square metres for the practical part of the training. The machine park is divided into the main areas of the training: handwork, turning, milling, grinding and CNC machines. In addition, the Plansee Group has invested in new machines for additive manufacturing and grinding. The CNC machines are provided with state-of-the-art software for the programming of the CAM systems.

At the same time, investments have been made in the in-house vocational school. New classrooms and IT rooms as well as laboratories for hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical engineering meet the needs of growing student numbers. This infrastructure is also used by the students of the new economic engineering-focused secondary school in Reutte, which specialises in business informatics. The students will benefit from the fact that the Plansee Group, as a cooperation partner of the school, will manage the complete practical part of the training.

At present, Plansee and CERATIZIT offer the following training for apprentices: metal engineering with the main focus on cutting tools and mechanical engineering, process technology, materials engineering, electrical engineering and laboratory technology. For the business year 2021/22, the company is also offering jobs for these profiles and is looking forward to dedicated and enthusiastic applicants.
