Who are we and what do we do?
- CERATIZIT Balzheim GmbH & Co. KG was established in March 2018 following the merger of the two CERATIZIT subsidiaries KLENK (founded in 1958) and Günther Wirth Präzisionswerkzeuge (founded in 1981).
- Currently over 400 people are employed at the Balzheim site.
- Within the CERATIZIT Group, we are the centre of excellence for cutting applications using solid carbide tools in the aerospace industry.
- We produce over 2.5 million rotary machining tools for drilling, reaming, milling and countersinking every year.
- Our KLENK and private label tool solutions meet the most stringent quality requirements and are used around the world in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, mechanical engineering and medical technology sectors.
- We have been certified as a training company by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Ulm for more than 40 years.
- The Balzheim site is certified to DIN ISO 9001 and ISO 50001.
- We attach the utmost importance to being environmentally friendly, using renewable energy and save approximately 350 t CO2 a year with our own combined heat and power plant.

Oberbalzheim houses a modern and spacious training centre where varied and practical training is provided – nothing short of what is expected of an innovative training company certified by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. After learning the basics of metal processing in the first 1.5 years of training, our apprentices get to know all the relevant departments in our production facility in Unterbalzheim.

An overview of our trainee careers:
Cutting machine operator (m/f/d)
Cutting machine operators at CERATIZIT Balzheim manufacture precision tools to one thousandths millimetre accuracy! That is why this job requires both dexterity and attention to detail. Working carefully and accurately are skills that are just as important.
Requirements:
- Very good secondary school diploma or higher degree
- Manual dexterity / technical understanding
- Interest in tools, machines and systems, and spatial awareness
- Enthusiasm for learning and working in a team
Machine and plant operator (m/f/d)
Machine and plant operators at CERATIZIT configure, operate and programme our machines and plant systems. They also carry out quality assurance measures, and plan and control the individual production steps.
Requirements:
- Good secondary school diploma or intermediate school leaving qualification
- Interest in tools, machines and plant systems
- Good practical and technical skills
- Good spatial imagination
- Enjoys learning and working as part of a team
- Friendliness, flexibility and reliability
Industrial mechanic (m/f/d)
Industrial mechanics at CERATIZIT Balzheim machine workpieces with the help of metal-cutting machining processes such as turning, milling and grinding to the thousandth of a millimeter and are responsible for the production, maintenance and monitoring of technical systems as well as for setting up, converting and commissioning production plants.
Requirements:
- Very good secondary school diploma or higher degree

- Craftsmanship / technical skills
